About BCC

WHO started it all?

Senior / Founding Pastor Bill Maye and his wife, Michelle.

WHAT were they thinking?

That they would start a church not to compete with the many fine churches already established in the area - but for those people who were not currently attending a church because they see church as boring, too intimidating, or just not relevant to their stressed-out, hyper-speed lives. Not to mention those who weren't in church because they felt unworthy, unloved and unlovable.

WHEN did BCC open it's doors?

Our first service was held on Easter Sunday, April 1999. There were no media clips, no dramas or fantastic special music. Just people.

WHERE did this church first take root?

Actually we were a church plant from Manna Church in Fayetteville. We began meeting in one of our member's local business and then moved into the Dennis Wicker Civic Center. In August 03 we moved into our current facility and now have plans for an addition that is scheduled to open in 2008.

WHY do we do what we do the way we do it?

It's simple: people matter to God. Even if they don't know it yet. So we strive to meet them in their comfort zone, with messages that deal with their everyday challenges, hopes and heartbreaks. And in many ways they can relate - through movies, music and drama. We believe God is present in all things, at all times. You just have to open your eyes.
